Web Sites

Below you will find information about all of the web sites I've worked on. When applicable, please click on the "visit" links to view the pages online.

Cheap Tickets
Cheap Tickets is one of the top 10 largest travel web sites in the United States. During my tenure, I was chiefly responsible for designing and building pages for weekly promotional events. When I was't busy with promotions, I worked together with a dynamic team of developers to enhance the appearance and functionality of CheapTickets.com, address issues with the site, and document changes made to the code. The majority of the site utilizes XSL stylesheets and uses those to integrate XML/HTML pages, JavaScript files, and many other web technologies into cohesive pages. Cheap Tickets has been a tremendous learning experience, and by far the most challenging and rewarding position I've had thus far.

Coors.com
Coors.com, the official web site for the Coors Brewing Company was designed and developed entirely by our team of programmers and graphic artists at the Integer Group in the summer of 2000. I started working for the Integer Group mid-way into the development of this website. While most of the development and design work was completed by senior programmers and artists, I did a fair amount of the HTML development and worked closely with a lead programmer to set page layout and add interactivity to the site.

Datalynx
The web site for Datalynx, a local financial company was another of the projects I worked on during my tenure with the Integer Group. Using the "slice" tool in Adobe ImageReady, I converted the main page design (a large, static image) into HTML format, and developed a large number of pages for the site. I also created buttons with rollover states using Photoshop and Image Ready to enhance the aesthetic appearance.

DigitalMed
My primary responsibility at DigitalMed was to convert Microsoft Word scripts written by instructional designers into dynamic, interactive courseware for the nursing industry. This process involves creation of many Flash and JavaScript activities, exams, questionnaires, and interactive animations.

All of the courseware I created is strictly copyrighted, so I'm unfortunately unable to post any outside links.

Colorado Department of Human Services
The majority of my time at the Colorado Department of Human Services was spent converting the department's disaster recovery contingency plan from a standard Word document into web format. Each region had a separate plan, though most of the information was the same. I successfully combined all of the documents into one web document, and formatted it into a user-friendly internal web site. When this project was completed ahead of schedule, I took on another project: converting all of the department's work order forms (which were previously submitted as hard copies) into web format.

All of the work I did for CDHS was used internally, thus I cannot provide an outside link.

College Project - Strategic Management
For a final project in my Management capstone course at Metropolitan State College of Denver, a group of four of us had to financially analyze a company of our choosing. To present the data and information, a basic web site was built. I designed and developed the site entirely on my own, and our group received a near perfect score on the project.

Hal Nees' Web Site
My main project while working for the Center for Academic Technology was to build a faculty web site for Dr. Hal Nees, a professor of criminal justice. I developed the entire site on my own, and also did a great deal of the graphic design work. The site is currently online and viewable, but the professor took control of the maintenance of the site when I graduated. Since he has very little experience with web development, the page now has some font color and size problems, and several broken links. These problems didn't exist when I handed the site off.

Hal Nees' Online Course
Dr. Nees was so impressed with the work I did on his faculty web site, that he asked if I would create an online course for him as well. The course, though not quite as extensive as his personal web page, was also partially designed and completely developed by myself. I do not have access to this course directly so I cannot provide an outside link, but I did save all my work and have uploaded the entire site to this server.

Qwest Intranet
The most significant project during my tenure at The Integer Group was to build an intranet site for Qwest. This page was designed to help customer service representatives at Qwest to sell additional products and services to customers when they called. Once completed, the site was well received, both by Qwest, and my supervisors.

Unfortunately, since this site became part of an internal intranet, I am unable to post an outside link, but the screen shot to the left should give you an idea of the design.

SquareSound
I'm a huge fan of playing the piano, and listening to piano music. Some of my favorite piano music comes from the critically-acclaimed Final Fantasy video game series, which has received numerous awards for its outstanding musical scores. The games are developed by SquareSoft (Square for short, hence the site's title "SquareSound"), a Japanese manufacturer. The site I've built is a comprehensive resource for music from these games. All of the design and development work has been done entirely by myself. The site has been extremely successful since it opened, garnering well over 200,000 hits since July, 2002.

Sacred Heart of Mary Church Web Site
I recently volunteered and was elected to create the web site for our Church. Every aspect of the site was built entirely by myself.
